Natural Controls for Noxious Weeds, created with a grant from the Environmental Foundation of the Aspen Skiing Company, is a 30-minute documentary describing the noxious weed issue in the Rocky Mountain West. The video features non-chemical treatment methods that are proven to be effective alternatives to spraying. Successful programs using insect biocontrol, manual methods, grazing, and land reclamation are presented. The video discusses community efforts to reduce the use of herbicides near population centers.

Controlling noxious weeds has been a contentious issue throughout the Rocky Mountain West. Many people are concerned about the hazards of herbicide use, yet this is now the primary method employed by governments and landowners to control the invasive weeds now threatening our region's native environment. Natural Controls for Noxious Weeds offers a new approach, reducing the use of toxins, yet achieving excellent results with the use of other methods. Millions of public dollars are spent on the chemical control of weeds each year. This documentary suggests that budgets could be reduced, and more lasting solutions developed that preserve the health of the environment and the community.
